Chapter 1: The Empty House

SUMMARY:

He tried to solve that mystery with Holmes methods, but it was already not the same
In 1894 all of London was interested in the murder of the Honourable Ronald Adair, but Sherlock was dissapeared in 1891. He'd dead, and those years, Watson missed him. He tried to solve that mystery with Holmes methods, but it was already not the same.
Ronald Adair was the son of a Earl. He lived with his mother and has many rich and aristocrat friend. He also enjoyed to play cards.
The night of his dead he was in his room doing accounts about wins and losses of money sitting at his desk. The window of his room was open and the door locked. Ronad was found lying near the desk. The date of that murder was on the night of 30 March
Dr. Watson was walking in Pake Lane, the place where was the murder and he bumped into an old man who was standing behind him. But nobody knew was that that old man was Sherlock Holmes. He had returned to solve this crime.
Holmes was disguised as an old man to hide his identity, and explains to Watson how he managed to escape death. Watson could not believe it, but he had work to do with his friend: solve that murder.
They called a taxi and took them near Baker Street, left us in an empty house, curiously, that house was in front of the house of Holmes and Watson.
Sherlock told his partner to look out the window and he saw an identical bust of Holmes. This was made in France. He put him for protection, since his enemies are following him.
They heard someone coming up the stairs of that house. That man pulled out a pistol and shot Holmes's bust. He jumped like a tiger towards that man (who was old but strong). Then he hung Holmes with his own hands and Watson hit him with the gun.
Later, Inspector Lestrade arrived accompanied by two policemen. The lord is taken prisoner for the murder of the Honorable Ronald Adair. Do you want to know what was the logic that Holmes concludes?

OPINION:

The beginning of this book is interesting because is easy-to-read story and a reader is surprised to learn that Sherlock Holmes is dead, but Conan Doyle gives a twist to the story by writing that he was not dead and the anecdote of how he survived death. It reappears the logical conclusions, adventures and mysteries of Sherlock Holmes cases, always acomapñado of his partner and friend, Dr. Watson
