About... Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He went to Stonyhurst Jesuit College and studied medicine at Edinburgh University. He practised medicine in the south of England for a years before he became a professional fiction writer.
He's best known for his creation of SHERLOCK HOLMES.
He died at his home in Sussex, England con 7 July, 1930.

BASIC SITUATION IN SHERLOCK HOLMES'S NOVELS:
Holmes and his friend and colleague Dr. Watson work together at 221b Baker Street, where Mrs Hudson is their housekeeper. Holmes and Watson receive visitors and help them to solve mysteries. The head of Scotland Yard (the official London police) is Inspector Lestrade, a naive and rather stupid man who often doesn't like Holmes's interference, but needs his help; and his arch-enemy is the evil Professor Moriarty- a brillant and dangerous man who is as well-known un the world of crime as Holmes is in the world of detection.

Holmes solves crimes by using logic and examining the details of the mysterious situations his clients describes. Holmes also anticipated many methods of crime detection. He himself was an expert un chemistry, different kind of mud, tobacco ashes, typewriter characters, gunpowder stains, footprints, identification of body parts and codes.
Although Holmes is a fictional character, can be consider one of the fathers of modern scientific criminology.
